I failed to mention something especially exciting!!! Rocky and I traded in our cars (Mustang & Camry) for two new cars! We got a great deal on these beauties, and I have thoroughly enjoyed them.

My Little Buddy
Ryder has really been cracking me up lately. Forinstance, today in church we were sitting by a family that lives next door to us. They have a little boy close to Ryder's age, and the boy gave him a little monkey and tiger to play with. So Ryder took this little squatting monkey and placed him on the back of the tiger. At first, Rocky and I just thought it was unintentional, until Ryder proceeded to pick up the tiger with the monkey on its back and pretend it was galloping like a horse. But instead of a horse sound, he was making loud growling sounds. I know it may not sound funny, but I was laughing so hard I was crying. It was priceless.
Also, on Friday, Ryder and I were driving in my car and the KT Tunstall song came on (the Black Horse and the Cherry Tree). In a little high pitch voice he sang "woo hoo, woo hoo." It was so adorable and totally unprompted. Then, when it came to the "no, no" part again he sang "no, no" in this sweet little high pitched voice. It was so adorable. I just wanted to turn around and start recording him. But, I was driving and did not have a camera!!
I think Ryder may realize that we have a limited time before a new little member of the family comes along. It seems like any opportunity he gets he wants me to hold him, and he's so cuddly and sweet. He does have his little evil moments, too, but everything he does is an effort to get attention. I'm just trying to pay the closest attention to when he does good things. (If anyone has any tips for reinforcing the good behavior a little more, let me know).

It's a Girl!

Some of the names we like are: Peyton, Chase, and Reese. I think our favorite is Chase. I know it's usually a boy's name, but we still like it! We also like Piper, but I think it's a little too close to Ryder.
Also, I already bought her baby bedding. Rocky's mom had a business associate give her a hefty gift card to Pottery Barn. So, we used some of it to buy her bedding. The link to it is: http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/fd2661/index.cfm?pkey=cgirls%2Dnursery%2Dbedding%7Cb. I even have a little idea of what I want the paint to look like on the wall. It is at: http://featurewalls.ie/children_baby.php (click on pink bugs mural). Rocky is willing to add all the cute details, but my idea is to have a little stream around the room with little flowers, lily pads, frogs, butterflies and such and little castle somewhere on the wall. I don't want it to be too busy, so the pictures would be smaller. We'll see. I would be fine with one plain color, but Rocky thinks it would be fun to have pictures up. I'm sure I would have loved it as a kid.

Disney World
Over Thanksgiving break we went to Disney World. It was a ton of fun! I feel a lot fatter now because we just ate out for 5 days straight, but it was definitely worth it--even after getting weighed at my doctor's appointment.

"Kneaders" Experience
I had been craving Kneader's french toast for about a month now, but we could never make our way to Provo before 11 am to indulge. Finally, yesterday we were able to make the journey to the "promised land." (You can definitely tell I am pregnant because it was such a momentous occasion). Upon arriving, we discovered that the parking lot was packed. Uh-oh...when we went inside the line was long, and it was 10 minutes to 11. I was so worried that I would have to eat a sandwich. However, when we got to the front of the line, victory was mine--I ordered the french toast without a hitch.

FRUSTRATED!!!
I am so frustrated right now...I just logged on to Facebook, and I started reading comments that some of my "friends" from high school were posting. Talk about bigotry...of course it was about prop 8. They adamantly pointed out that 75% of the funding for 8 was by the LDS church. They went on to say that they were "glad" that our tithing went to a good cause--rather than helping homeless people. WOW...first off, it is our fast offerings which help those in need. Secondly, I'm not sure those people have ever donated a dime in their life to any charity. So, why would they dwell on this?

Your husband might be a nerd if...
Not only is Rocky's Halloween costume an example of why he is a nerd, but here are some other things to consider...
Your husband might be a nerd if:
-he has more toys than your own child and the neighbors combined.
-he is getting a custom made Star Wars costume for next year (being made now).
-he owns copies of several kids cartoons.
-he tries to teach your child the names of various superheroes and other things relating to the "nerd side."
-reads Wired and National Geographic magazines cover to cover.
-had to be conviced to stop using his cartoon pillowcase.
...I think I could go on, and on, but overall being a nerd makes my husband a fabulous father! :)
